Details Released In Murrieta Crash That Killed Menifee Motorcyclist
The crash occurred at the Whitewood Road and Hellebore Street intersection.

MURRIETA, CA — A traffic crash Thursday evening in Murrieta was fatal, the coroner and police confirmed.
Mason Young, 23, of Menifee was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:31 p.m. crash at Whitewood Road and Hellebore Street, according to the agency.
Murrieta police alerted the public to the crash via social media shortly after the wreck occurred, asking motorists to avoid the residential area because "Officers are on scene for a major injury traffic collision."

Police later provided details about the fatal incident.
A 17-year-old girl behind the wheel of a sedan was making a left turn onto northbound Whitewood from Hellebore, according to Murrieta PD. She failed to see Young riding southbound on Whitewood and he ended up broadsiding her car.

"No driver impairment or indicators of speed violations were discovered, and evidence suggests the primary collision factor to be failure to yield the right-of-way," according to the department.
Despite lifesaving measures by emergency personnel, Young could not be saved.
The intersection was shut down while officers investigated the crash.
