Sen. Seyarto Appointed to Legislative Emergency Management Committee

MURRIETA, CA — California State Sen. Kelly Seyarto (R-Murrieta) will serve on the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management, appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Mike McGuire this week.
Seyarto represents California's 32nd Senate District of Southwest Riverside County.

Seyarto has 35 years of experience as a firefighter and battalion chief, and this appointment aligns with his ongoing efforts to advocate for stronger disaster response measures and support for those affected by emergencies, according to his website.
California's 32nd Senate District includes the cities and communities of Aguanga, Anza, Borrego Springs, Canyon Lake, Chino Hills, Corona, El Sobrante, French Valley, Homeland, Julian, La Cresta, Lake Elsinore, Lake Mathews, Lakeland Village, Menifee, Murrieta, Norco, Sage, Temecula, Temescal Valley, Wildomar, Winchester, Woodcrest, Yorba Linda and parts of Riverside.

According to Ballotpedia, the Emergency Management Committee is a joint standing committee of the California Legislature.
"Per the Joint Rules, the Senate Committee on Rules appoints senate members to joint committees, while the House Speaker appoints assembly members to joint committees. Joint committee members serve until their successors are regularly selected. The Senate Committee on Rules and the House Speaker recommend a chair for each joint committee, with the Joint Rules Committee making the appointment based on the recommendations. A majority of the membership from each chamber constitutes a quorum."
