Complete List Of 2023 Michelin Starred Restaurants In California

CALIFORNIA — The 2023 Michelin Guide was released this week with an additional six restaurants earning stars, bringing to 87 the number of California restaurants that currently have one, two or three stars.

The highest designation is three starts, restaurants that Michelin says serve "Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey." There are six in California.

Restaurants that earn two stars have "Excellent cuisine, worth a detour." Twelve California restaurants have two stars.

One star restaurants offer "High quality cooking, worth a stop." There are 69 in California.

Earning a Michelin star is the gold standard for restaurants, but the company has other categories of recognition. There are 15 California restaurants with Green Stars, considered "Restaurant sustainability leaders." There are only 17 Green Star restaurants in North America.

Bib Gourmands — there are 143 in California — are touted as "Good food at a moderate price."
