Crash In Napa Leaves Thousands Without Power

A pole was hit, causing an outage Sunday night for nearly 3,400 customers, a PG&E spokesperson confirmed.

NAPA, CA — A car crash Sunday night left almost 3,400 Pacific Gas and Electric customers on the south edge of Napa and in unincorporated Napa County without power, a utility spokeswoman confirmed.

The collision was reported at 9:05 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Golden Gate Drive and knocked down a utility pole that, in turn, caused the outage, PG&E spokeswoman Karly Hernandez said.

Areas west and north of State Highway 121 and almost up to West Imola Avenue on the north end — with Foster Road being the main thoroughfare through that area — were affected by the outage as crews worked to replaced the utility pole, Hernandez said.

At 9:45 p.m., the Napa Police Department put out an advisory about the crash and subsequent outage, advising the public to avoid the area.

By Monday morning, power appeared to have been restored to the affected area, though it was not clear when exactly that occurred.
