Sonoma County Auto Giant Expands Footprint In Napa
A sprawling Petaluma-based auto dealer expands its Napa footprint by taking over a Ford dealership after owner's bankruptcy.
NAPA VALLEY, CA — Hansel Auto Group is taking over Napa's Ford dealership, adding it to existing Sonoma County operations, including Hansel Ford in Santa Rosa and Petaluma.
The move will give Hansel an even larger wine country presence and a deeper footprint in the Ford enterprise, as well as in Napa County.
The purchase of Napa Ford comes after owner Kevin Massie of Napa Ford Lincoln Mercury filed for bankruptcy protection in July, according to reports.

Hansel Auto Group, led by Henry and Justin Hansel, includes eight locations and several auto manufacturers — BMW, Acura, Volkswagen, Subaru, Lincoln, Honda, Toyota, and Ford, in addition to used cars.
According to court documents, Hansel Enterprises, Inc. submitted the highest and best offer totaling $19.1 million. Approximately $5.8 million was paid for the Napa dealership's assets. Hansel paid $13.3 million for the property at 570 Soscol Ave., according to reports.
