A 12-year-old Lake County girl reported missing on Thursday has been found safe at the home of a relative in Santa Rosa, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said today.

Jenica Fredrick had last been seen Thursday morning around 8 a.m. at her home in Cobb, Calif. as she was getting ready for school. She was reported missing later that day, however, and investigators learned she had never taken the bus or arrived at school, according to Capt. Chris Macedo.

Fredrick had been described as being upset over a recent incident at home when she was last seen, and investigators had received unconfirmed reports suggesting she was headed to the Lakeport area.

An extensive search of the Cobb Mountain and Lakeport areas continued today until Fredrick's parents received a call from a relative in Santa Rosa reporting she was there and safe, Macedo said. Her parents were driving down to Santa Rosa as of this afternoon.

A large number of Bay Area agencies assisted in the search for Fredrick, including search and rescue teams and other officials from Mendocino, Marin, Sonoma, Contra Costa, Alameda, Solano, San Mateo County and
Napa counties.
