Napa Business Owner Hit With 'Outrageous' Blood Work Bill From The Queen

San Francisco Business Times article gives details.

Stars Align Graphic owner Kathy Meinhardt's shock at receiving a $4,316.55 bill for blood work at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa made the news this week.

The bill was almost 10 times higher than a similar bloodwork session at nearby Quest Diagnostics lab a few months ago, Meinhardt told the San Francisco Business Times in a story this week.

A hospital spokesperson quoted in the story declined to comment due to privacy concerns. An insurance spokesperson advised her to contact the California Department of Insurance, the story says.

Meinhardt said she switched to the "Queen" because the hospital was on the list of local Napa providers that were "in-network" with her insurer.
