Napa County Celebrates Opening Of Carneros Fire Station

The $2 million facility is situated along a plot of land acquired through a development agreement with Carneros Resort.

NAPA, CA β€” Napa County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday for the new Carneros Fire Station at 5260 Old Sonoma Road.

In attendance at the ceremony were: Board of Supervisors Chair Belia Ramos and Vice Chair Joelle Gallagher; Deputy Chief of the Napa County Fire Department Jason Martin, Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit Chief Mike Marcucci, and Napa County Public Works Director Steve Lederer.

The $2-million satellite fire station replaces the facility at 4301 Old Sonoma Highway and spans 1,850 square feet to accommodate two fire trucks, according to a new release from the county. The fire station features upgrades that offer more space for fire truck driveway access, a fire truck turnaround, an emergency generator, a vehicle wash area, a parking area, utility improvements, drainage and landscaping.

The facility is situated along a plot of land acquired through a development agreement with Carneros Resort.

β€œThe project was a cooperative effort to relocate the old station that fit one fire truck to a new location that can accommodate two fire trucks,” said Deputy Chief Jason Martin. β€œThe land use agreement provided an opportunity to increase services for Napa County.”

The fire station is part of the Carneros Volunteer Fire Company and operates as one of the volunteer stations under the Napa County Fire Department.

The project broke ground Aug. 4, 2021, and has been in operation since Jan. 9, 2023.
