Police Log: Domestic Violence, Meth Possession, Spitting on Police, Shoplifting

Napa Police report multiple arrests.

 

A 38-year-old Napa man was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of domestic violence and probation violation after he allegedly got into an argument with another person at a home in the 2700 block of Elm Street in Napa.

Chuck Clifford Rothberg was taken into custodya at 9:35 p.m. Friday after the incident.

Police said Rothberg got into an argument with another person within a residence in the 2700 block of Elm Street. The argument turned physical and Rothberg allegedly assaulted the victim causing minor injury, which did not require immediate medical attention, police said.

Rothberg was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 57-year-old Napa man was rearrested over the weekend on suspicion of resisting arrest, being under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of a bail release agreement.

David Lee Binstock was taken into custody at 3:41 p.m. Saturday after police contacted him in the 1100 block of Kansas Avenue in Napa.

Police said they saw Binstock, whom they recognized from prior police contacts, standing on the porch of his residence on Kansas Avenue. The officers knew Binstock is currently out on OR/bail agreement out of Napa County for a prior narcotics offense and has terms that include submit to search and seizure.

Officers attempted to contact Binstock as he started to go into his residence. An officer ordered Binstock to stop; Binstock did not comply with that order and continued to move towards the door of his residence.

Officers grabbed Binstock before he could enter the house and took him into custody. As officers spoke with Binstock they noticed he displayed signs of being under the influence of drugs. Binstock was evaluated and officers determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Binstock was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 31-year-old transient in the Napa area was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of a controlled substance, felony probation violation and violation of post court services after police said they found suspected methamphetamine in his pockets.

Ruben Patino was taken into custody at 10:14 p.m. Saturday in the area of Louisa Street and Paul Avenue in Napa.

Police said they Patino walking in the area of Louisa Street and Paul Street and they knew he was on Napa County probation as well as PRCS probation with search and seizure terms.

Officers contacted Patino and searched him, pursuant to the terms of his probation. The search resulted in officers finding suspected methamphetamine in his pants pocket. Patino was arrested and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 43-year-old American Canyon man was arrested Monday after police allege he caused over $1,000 worth of damages to a home in Napa and spit on a police officer while being taken into custody.

Anthony Dominique Mays was booked at 2:31 a.m. Monday on suspicion of vandalism, battery of a police officer and probation violation after an incident in the 200 block of Hartle Court in Napa.

Police said they  were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Hartle Court. Hayes  was reported as an unwanted subject breaking glass and throwing things.

Hayes was contacted walking away from the scene. It was determined Hayes had damaged a window valued over $1,000 and is on probation.

Hayes was arrested and verbally hostile towards officers. Hayes spit on an officer. Hayes was booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 29-year-old Napa woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of shoplifting from the Kohl's store in Napa, possession of a narcotic controlled substance and entering a noncommercial dwelling.

Christine Carter Camp was booked at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Kohl's at 116 First St., Napa.

Police said the arret took place after dispatch took a call from a Loss Prevention Officer at Kohl`s, indicating they were detaining Camp for shoplifting.

Camp allegedly took a pair of tennis shoes and attempted to leave the store without paying for them.

Kohl’s security has arrested Camp before on a prior thefts and she was told not return or enter the store in the future. 

After taking Camp into custody, The Loss Prevention Officer searched Camp and located Hydrocodone, which was prescribed to another person.

A Napa Police Officer arrived and the store and took Camp into custody. She was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
