CALISTOGA, CA — Police in Calistoga are warning residents of a phone scam involving callers posing as Calistoga Police Department officers and asking for money.

Police said the calls show up on caller ID as the police department's business line.

The Calistoga Police Department said it wants to remind residents officers will never call to request money over the phone on behalf of any agency.
