Police Log: Suspicious Person Held at Bakery

Women held in connection with incident at Panera Bakery.

 

A 44-year-old Napa woman was taken into custody Monday after employees at Panera Bakery told police she was trying to get inside the store to use the phone.

Police arrested Deana Raejean Mallott at 5:27 a.m. Monday at the bakery at 1725 Trancas St. on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to the police report, officers responded to the 1725 Trancas St. to investigate a report of a suspicious person.

Dispatch advised that a female, wearing a black jacket, was attempting to get inside the business in order to use the phone. According to the employees that were preparing the business for opening, the subject appeared suspicious and possibly homeless.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted a female that matched the description. She was identified as Deana Mallott. 

Officers noticed that Mallott displayed signs of being under the influence of drugs. Mallott was evaluated and it was determined that she was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Mallott was arrested and searched. Offices located two small baggies of suspected methamphetamine in her pants pocket as well as a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Mallott was transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 57-year-old Vallejo man was arrested Monday on suspicion of striking another person with a wood walking stick.

Kerry Wayne Morris was taken into custody at 9:54 p.m. in the 10 block of Westwood Avenue in Napa after police said he was involved in a fight with another perso

According to police, Morris has been working for the person who struck with the stick as a landscaper. After work, they had a verbal argument over money in the 10 block of Westwood.

The argument turned physical and Morris allegedly hit the man on the head, back and arm with a wood walking stick. This caused multiple injuries for the man.

The man was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center and treated for his injuries and released. Morris left the scene in victim’s truck.

The vehicle was located at 7-Eleven on First Street. Morris was located at a residence in the 1000 block of Matt Drive and was arrested.

Morris was transported and booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 25-year-old Napa woman was arrested at 1:09 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of domestic violence causing minor injury.

Jennifer Anne Bingham was taken into custody by police in the 1800 block of Wise Drive in Napa after police said she was involved in a fight with another person.

Police said Bingham and the other person got into a verbal argument that turned physical, resulting in the victim receiving a bloody lip and scratched arms.

Bingham was arrested and booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.
