POLICE LOG: Suspected Meth Possession, DUI Warrant

Napa Police respond to disturbances, incidents.

 

A 34-year-old Napa man was arrested at 4:38 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Lincoln Avenue on suspicion of giving false ID to police officers, transporting a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a supended or revoked license and an outstanding DUI warrant.

Police said the incident occurred when an officer was traveling south on California Boulevard, approaching the intersection of Lincoln Avenue behind a brown-colored pickup truck, when he observed the vehicle commit a Vehicle Code violation.

The officer contacted the driver, Jamie Mendoza, who allegedly initially gave a false name to the officer. Further investigation revealed Mendoza’s true name, as well as the fact that his driver’s license was suspended and that he had a no bail DUI warrant for his arrest out of Napa County.

Mendoza was arrested and he was searched. The search resulted in the officer finding suspected methamphetamine in Mendoza’s pants pocket. Mendoza was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
