A 26-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, burglary and probation violation at Walmart in Napa after police said store security allegedly saw him place a TV set in his shopping cart, pull off the security sensor tag and wheel the cart out.

Police said the Asset Protection Manager saw Zuniga enter the store and select multiple items, placing them into his grocery cart.

Zuniga had Walmart shopping bags that he placed the items inside to make it appear as though the items had been purchased.

Zuniga then placed a large television in his grocery cart. He then proceeded to remove the security device by pulling it off, which allowed him to walk out of the store without the sensor making the alarm go off.

Zuniga took the items and proceeded to walk past all open cash registers. Zuniga made no attempt to pay for the items. The Asset Protection Manager contacted Zuniga outside and took him into custody.

Zuniga was brought into the Loss Prevention office. While Zuniga was sitting in the office he attempted to conceal an item from his pocket. The Asset Protection Manager took the item. It was a small press lock baggie that contained suspected methamphetamine.

Zuniga was turned over to police, at which time he was transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
