Man Seriously Injured By Boat Propeller At Lake Berryessa
First responders acted quickly to save the life of a man Sunday who fell off a boat and was maimed by its propeller.

LAKE BERRYESSA, CA — Multiple agencies worked in tandem Sunday to save a man who was seriously injured after falling off a boat on Lake Berryessa. According to the Napa County Sheriff's Office, deputies worked with Cal Fire and the California Highway Patrol to quickly stabilize the patient and fly him to a hospital for critical treatment.
Officials said the 39-year-old Richmond man suffered "major lacerations" to his hand and wrist after the fall. According to Bay City News, the man was not wearing a life jacket, but family members managed to pull him back onto the boat and call for help.
Deputy Nick DeGuilio jumped into action to apply a tourniquet and stop the bleeding, and the three agencies worked together to get the man to a CHP helicopter, which airlifted him to a Vacaville hospital.
