Rockslide Reported In Napa County Amid Heavy Rain

Nearly an inch of rain fell in the last 12 hours in parts of Napa County, according to the National Weather Service.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A rockslide was reported in Napa County after nearly an inch of rain fell overnight in some parts of the county.

Rocks and debris were covering a large portion of state Highway 128 just east of Greaves Road early Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

At 5:40 a.m. Monday, CHP reported the shoulder of the highway needed to be scraped as crews removed debris from the lanes to make the roadway passable.

Multiple drivers had to stop and wait to make their way around the rocks, the CHP reported.

Caltrans responded and was expected to monitor the slide throughout the day Monday.
