A suspect early Tuesday led law enforcement through American Canyon, Vallejo and Napa before he crashed into a house, police said.

AMERICAN CANYON, CA β€” An East Bay man is accused of leading law enforcement officers on a multi-city, high-speed pursuit early Tuesday in a stolen pick-up truck, according to the American Canyon Police Department.

It started around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday when American Canyon police officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle theft that was taking place in the 300 block of Los Altos Drive. Officers spotted the stolen vehicle, a white 2006 Ford F-350 truck, traveling southbound on Elliott Drive and tried to stop the truck.

However, the suspected continued to drive on the rim, reaching speeds near 100 mph, police said.

Traffic during the pursuit was light so officers and deputies continued northbound on SR-29 into Napa.

California Highway Patrol also responded to assist with air and ground support.

Once into Napa city limits, the suspect continued onto northbound state Highway 221, then onto Soscol Avenue, and then onto northbound Big Ranch Road.

The driver, identified by police as 56-year-old Albert Mayfield of Hayward, ended up crashing into a residence in the 5000 block of Big Ranch Road.

There were no injuries in the traffic collision.

Mayfield surrendered to officers and was arrested.

A records check revealed Mayfield had several felony warrants for his arrest out of Alameda County, one of which included vehicle theft. Further, Mayfield admitted to recently using methamphetamine and cocaine, police said.

He was booked into Napa County jail for his outstanding warrants and several felony charges associated with the vehicle theft and the pursuit.
