Ukulele Sensation to Perform in North Bay
Jake Shimabukuro, whose debut album hit no. 3 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, performs in Napa on Feb. 18.
NAPA, CA -- Jake Shimabukuro, a Hawaii-based ukulele virtuoso whose latest album, Nashville Sessions, reached no. 3 on the Billboard Jazz chart, is coming to Napa.
Shimabukuro's album, which was released in September 2016, has been called "one of the most adventurous, multifaceted and engaging recordings yet from the man whose music has redefined the ukulele for the 21st century," and "one of the boldest and most unique ukulele records ever made—a new benchmark for the uke."

“We approached the performance like a jazz trio record, but with a more progressive rock sound,” Shimabukuro said of the album.
Shimabukuro is scheduled to perform his live show, "For Consideration - Jake Shimabukuro," at the Uptown Theatre Napa at 8 pm Saturday, Feb 18. Tickets, which range for $40 to $75, can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.
