5 Hurt After 2-Car Crash Sends Vehicle Into East Bay Home
Police suspect alcohol was a factor in the collision, but the crash remained under investigation.

NEWARK, CA — Five people were injured after a two-car crash sent one vehicle into a home over the weekend in the East Bay, authorities said.
A sedan and an SUV collided at about 10:35 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Cedar Boulevard and Lafayette Avenue in Newark, according to the Newark Police Department. The crash sent the sedan into a home in the 5000 block of Lafayette Avenue.
The driver of the sedan driver suffered serious injuries, police said. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries, but two passengers in the SUV were seriously injured. All of them were taken to local hospitals. A person who was inside the home that was hit was also treated at a hospital.
