City of Newark Seeking A Chief Information Officer

NEWARK, CA -- The City of Newark is now accepting applications for a Chief Information Officer / Information Technology Director. Applications are due by 5 pm on June 14, 2022.

The person hired for the role of CIO/IT Director would lead a team of five full-time staff and supplemental contractors as needed to support all city operations, including a police department with a dispatch center.

The CIO/IT Director would also be responsible for managing and coordinating technology needs with engagement from an IT Steering Committee made up of city department representatives; creating and maintaining cyber security incident response and disaster recovery plans; developing business continuity plans; creating end user policies and administering training programs; overseeing citywide Geographic Information Systems (GIS); ensuring legal compliance, professional standards, protocols and resource requirements are met; and setting goals, governance and long-range plans.
