Newark USD To Offer Free Breakfast And Lunch This School Year
The meals must be eaten on campus only and cannot be picked up by parents or guardians.
NEWARK, CA — School is scheduled to start in Newark on Wednesday.

The Newark Unified School District Child Nutrition Services team reminds parents and other caregivers that during the 2023-2024 school year students will receive free meals as part of the California Universal Meals Program.

Students will receive one free breakfast and lunch each school day.
This year, meals can only be eaten on campus and cannot be picked up by parents or guardians. This is a change from the pandemic years. The meals may be eaten anywhere on-campus, not just in the cafeterias.

Breakfast is offered before school, Monday – Friday, 7:30 to 8 a.m. and during their scheduled brunch time.
Students can also pick up one free lunch during their scheduled lunchtime.
If a student is interested in a second breakfast or lunch, they will need to pay for those meals.
