Update: Two Local Runners Reported to Be OK after Boston Explosions

The Boston Marathon, a destination race that historically draws runners from all corners of the world, was locked down Monday after two explosions at the finish line.

There have been reports of injuries.

While no Newark residents participated, seven Tri-City residents were registered for the race, according to the race website. (Click the link to look up runners by city, state.)

According to Facebook posts made by friends, Arnel Calamba and Brian Callejas, both of Fremont, are reported to be OK.

"We r ok! Thanks so much for ur thoughts! It's heartbreaking and chaotic out here," Michelle Callejas, wife of Brian Callejas, wrote on a friend's Facebook wall.

A friend of Jacqueline Sloves said that Sloves was registered for the race but did not attend.
