Applications Open For Newport Beach's Community, Special Events Grants

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Applications are now open for Newport Beach's Community Programs Grants for any local organizations looking for a little extra financial help.

The city has budgeted $60,000 in grants to help provide qualified community organizations enhance their "services or programs offered for residents," Newport Beach officials said.

Organizations are eligible for the grants if they offer programs or services to Newport Beach residents, city officials said.

Grant applications are available on the city's website and are due by May 3 at 5 p.m.

"Submitting an application does not guarantee a grant award or financial support from the city," Newport Beach officials said.

Organizations do not have to be based in Newport Beach to qualify for a grant.

In addition to the Community Program Grants, the city will also provide funding for qualified special events held in Newport Beach.

Qualified events must take place between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, city officials said.

Events are eligible for the grants if they fall under one of two categories, community and charitable events or signature events.

Community and charitable events are events that "serve or benefit local organizations and causes, and/or provide recreational, cultural, social benefits to Newport Beach residents," city officials said.

Signatures events are events with 3,000 or more people and must "promote Newport Beach regionally, attract visitors and provide measurable economic benefits to the city," officials said.

Applications for the special events grants are due by May 3 at 5 p.m.
