Just south of Huntington Beach, Newport Beach is a sophisticated coastal playground with 10 distinctive neighborhoods. The harbor is one of the largest recreation areas on the West Coast. There are around 9,000 multi-million dollar yachts, sailboats and electric Duffy boats cruising by the Balboa Peninsula. This narrow spit of land between the harbor and Pacific Ocean is a waterfront playground with sandy beaches, million dollar homes, shopping and culinary venues.

A local favorite is CasaDami, nestled at Newport Beach’s Peninsula Village. The coastal cafe is great for shore-side viewing during lunch and weekend brunch, and in the evening for cocktails, wine, tapas and entrees. Founded in January 2025 by partners Camilla Caremoli and Dave Shah, CasaDami is inspired by the enchanting spirit of La Dolce Vita.

Start with sparkling wine with crispy potato chips served with luscious creme fraiche and slightly salty caviar. They also make a Limoncello Spritz with Prosecco, Campagna Limoncello and Roman star anise with a splash of soda water. It's ideal to pair with warm ham croquettes, and a burratina salad with aged balsamic. Other shareable dishes include Serrano ham and Manchego cheese and croquetas. Entrees include Chicken Milanese, sautéed scallops and Australian filet mignon.
