NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Newport Beach residents can head to Castaways Park through the end of Memorial Day to pay their respects to fallen United States servicemembers at the "Field of Honor."

The display features 1,776 American flags arranged along the pathways of Castaways Park to commemorate both Armed Forces Day, which was Saturday, and Memorial Day, Newport Beach officials said.

The Field of Honor is presented by the Exchange Club of Newport Harbor, a nonprofit service club dedicated to "youth programs, Americanism, prevention of child abuse and supporting our military," the group's website said.
