NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A new luxury resort will open at the site of the former Fashion Island Hotel Newport Beach sometime next summer, The Daily Pilot reported.

Montage International, a hotelier company, and Eagle Four Partners, a private equity group, announced it was turning the former hotel site into an upscale resort called Pendry Newport Beach, the Pilot reported.

Montage International and Eagle Four Partners declined to tell the Pilot when construction will start for the hotel. However, the hotel will have 295 rooms with 82 suites, a spa, pool, an 8,710-square-foot ballroom, bar and restaurant, the paper reported.
