1. Today is the official birthday of the OC’s favorite mouse, Mickey. Walt Disney’s creation debuted in “Steamboat Willie” on Nov. 18, 1928.
2. The OASIS Senior Center is currently collecting canned and nonperishable food to help provide meals to those in need this holiday season. Donations are being accepted through Monday, Dec. 16 at the OASIS Lobby, 801 Narcissus Ave. in Corona del Mar.

Anyone who donates blood or platelets on Tuesday at Hoag Blood Donor Services will receive a slice of pizza compliments of Mario's in Newport Beach, from noon -4:30 p.m. To make an appointment to donate, call 949-764-5621 or email donateblood@hoag.org. Hoag Blood Donor Services is located at 510 Superior Ave., Suite 130 in Newport Beach.

5. Don't forget! If you drive Pacific Coast Highway, be forewarned of emergency construction work near Crystal Cove State Park. The northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach to remove obstructions created by a rockslide. Work should be completed by December.
