Jumper Shuts Down All Lanes Of 55 Freeway: CHP
The 19-year-old woman was taken into custody at a California State route 55 Freeway overpass Wednesday, authorities said.
ORANGE, CA — A 19-year-old woman was taken into custody at a Costa Mesa (55) Freeway overpass in Orange after threatening to jump, forcing full lane closures on the freeway Wednesday, authorities said.
California Highway Patrol officers started diverting traffic around the overpass at Lincoln Avenue at around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Orange Police Department.
A crisis negotiator with the Orange Police Department helped authorities take the woman safely into custody at around 6 p.m., OPD Lt. Phil McMullin told City News Service.
