Man Charged With Shooting Vehicles With BB Gun In Orange County
Rigoberto Tapia, 41, has been charged shooting at passing vehicles in Laguna Hills with a BB gun.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- A 41-year-old man is facing felony charges after allegedly shooting at passing vehicles in Laguna Hills with a BB gun.
On June 6, Rigoberto Tapia was charged at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach with two counts each of assault with a deadly weapon, throwing a substance or missile with the intent to do serious bodily harm and vandalism causing $400 or more in damage.
Orange County sheriff's deputies were called about 7 p.m. June 4 by a victim who said his vehicle was struck by pellets from an air soft gun shot by a man driving by, Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

One of the victims got the license plate of the vehicle where the gunfire erupted and relayed it to deputies, Braun said.
No one was injured, but two vehicles were damaged with one having a back window shattered, she said.

Tapia was ordered to return to court June 14 for a pretrial hearing in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
