Man Who Molested 2 OC Girls Sentenced: Courts

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A 55-year-old man was sentenced Friday to 75 years to life in prison for molesting two girls in Garden Grove.

Edward Alexander Plass was convicted Nov. 1 with four counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 years old or younger and two counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a minor younger than 14, all felonies.

The trial took place at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.

Plass was convicted of molesting one girl when she was 5 to 7 years old and the other when she was 6 to 9 years old, police testified at his preliminary hearing. He would give the girls "medicine," that was actually sleeping pills, police testified.

Plass, whose city of residence was not provided, was given credit for 1,257 days behind bars. It was not immediately known why his city of residence was not provided.
