Newport Beach To Host National Night Out On Aug. 5
The annual event is known nationwide for promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The Newport Beach Police Department is inviting residents to join them for an evening of community spirit and crime prevention at this year’s National Night Out on Aug. 5.
From 4 to 7 p.m., residents are invited to mingle and enjoy a night out at Bonita Canyon Sports Park.
The annual event, known nationwide for promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, will feature a wide array of family-friendly activities, public safety displays, and educational resources.

Attendees can meet members of the NBPD and learn more about crime prevention, home security, child safety, and opportunities to get involved through the Citizen’s Police Academy and the Volunteers in Policing program.
Interactive displays will include demonstrations from the department’s CSI team, SWAT unit, K9 officers, Mounted Units and Animal Control. Kids can enjoy games, crafts, food and a special visit from McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog.

The event is free and open to all ages. It will be held next to Field 4 at Bonita Canyon Sports Park, located at 1990 Ford Road in Newport Beach.
