Newport Harbor High To Host Youth Track Meet This Weekend
The "Track Meet of Champions" will pit Newport Beach youths against each other to find the best in the region.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Fleet-footed youngsters will descend on Newport Harbor High School Friday for the annual Youth Track Meet of Champions.
Youths will participate in various running, jumping and throwing events as part of the competition, organizers said. The top six finishers in each division will represent Newport Beach at the Orange County Qualifying Meet for the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation.
There are eight divisions in total, divided by age groups, organizers said.

Registration for the event closes Wednesday, and the cost is $13 for residents and $18 for non-residents. All competitors will receive an event t-shirt.
The event will be on Newport Harbor's Davidson Field. The school is at 600 Irvine Ave.

The Track Meet of Champions is co-sponsored by the Newport-Balboa Rotary Club and the Newport Beach Recreation and Senior Services Department.
