Passenger Traffic Increased at John Wayne in September
But total aircraft operations decreased in September when compared to the same month last year.
Passenger traffic at Orange County's John Wayne airport increased in September, the airport reported.
The airport saw an increase of 3% in September from September 2012 with a total of 728,971 passengers. Commercial aircraft operations also increased 3.4%, while commuter aircraft operations decreased 34.9% when compared to the levels recorded in September 2012.
Total aircraft operations decreased in September as compared to the same month in 2012. In September 2013, there were 20,589 total takeoffs and landings, a decrease of 0.7% when compared to 20,724 total aircraft operations in September 2012.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 66.5% of the total aircraft operations during September 2013, decreased 2% when compared to September 2012.
