Renters Seek Costa Mesa Council's Help To Curb Rent Hikes: Report
Several residents hoped Costa Mesa officials will be able to enact rent control measures in the face of rising costs on rental properties.
COSTA MESA, CA — A group of Latino renters in Costa Mesa is asking for the City Council's help to curb what they say are "devastating" rent hikes, the Daily Pilot reported.
Around 25 Spanish-speaking residents held a rally outside of Tuesday's City Council meeting in the hopes that officials can implement rent control measures.
Low-income residents have faced increasing costs on aging rental properties over the years, and some renters believe they may have to look for more affordable homes elsewhere unless the city acts, the Pilot reported.
