Burglar Enters Newport Home While Resident Sleeps
A suspect entered a home on Seashore Drive through an open window while the resident sleeps.

A suspect entered an unlocked Newport Beach home while the resident was asleep, police reported.
The burglary took place sometime between Oct. 15 at 9:30 p.m. and Oct. 16 at 7:25 a.m., at a home in the 5200 block of Seashore Drive. According to police, a suspect entered the home through an open window while the resident was asleep in a nearby bedroom.
The suspect stole a briefcase from the house that was visible from the window, according to police, and fled the home through a sliding glass door.
The resident realized her home was burglarized when she woke up in the morning, police said.
