Woman ID'd In Costa Mesa Sidewalk Shooting; Gunman Still At Large

The 20-year-old victim was shot by someone who knew her, Costa Mesa Police said Wednesday.

COSTA MESA, CA — A 20-year-old woman who was shot on a Costa Mesa sidewalk was identified by authorities Wednesday.

Officers responded at around 11:10 p.m. Monday to a report of shots fired and a person wounded in the 1500 block of Lukup Lane, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

"Officers found a 20-year-old Huntington Beach woman on the sidewalk suffering from several apparent gunshot wounds," CMPD Public Affairs Manager Roxi Fyad said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

According to authorities, the victim was known to the suspect, who remains at large. The victim was identified as Huntington Beach resident Monseratt Colorado, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
