9 Locals Run for North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council

A total of nine people are vying for a seat on the North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council.

The election is on Sept. 20 and being held at LA Fire Station 89 Community Room, 7063 Laurel Canyon Blvd., from 3-7 p.m.

Stakeholders who are least 16 years old and live, work or own propert within boundaries of the North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council can vote.

SARAH RAMSAWACK

My name is Sarah Ramsawack.  I have been a property owner in North Hollywood for over twenty years.  I graduated from college with a degree in English and Music, and I became a teacher.

I have been fortunate to be a parent, a teacher, a boutique manager, a musician, and an insurance underwriter.  I am now retired

In 2007 I became the founding facilitator of the Strathern Neighborhood Watch which is still serving in this Council area.

I served as the Outreach Chairperson for over three (3) years, then resigned to assume different challenges for our community.  I have served three years with the Mayor’s Budget of Los Angeles.

As Committee chairperson for the revision of Bylaws, our next job is the Standing Rules for this Council.

I am dedicated to knowing the people in our Neighborhood Council are, and knowing their needs, and in serving this community.

At-large representatives--3 seats for 4 years and 3 seats for 2 years.

FLORENCE DORICK

If elected I plan on continuing my efforts to make our Council even bigger and more productive than it was in the past 5 years I have served. Found my 55 years of work experience along with 81 years of life lessons to be a great aid in working on the Council.

J. ERIC FREEDNER

As a member of the first Board of Directors of North Hollywood North East N.C., I went on to serve as Board Member and Secretary for seven years. My past experience and efforts helped establish the NHNENC as a community organization, and I look forward to serving if elected. I am also a member of the Neighborhood Watch meeting at Valerio Street and Tujunga Avenue. Employed as a legal secretary for the past 32 years, although it does not seem that long, and residing at the same address since 1983.

WUNG CHANG

My first name is Wung, last name is Chang. But people call me Dr. Chang, Since 1983. My first name Wung is hard to pronounce and people think I’m a Chinese. I’m not a Chinese, I’m a Korean-American. So, I decide to have a  Ph.d and I got it  in 1983, And I’m running for a Resident Representative of NHNE Council. (I lived this area since 1978.)

JEFFREY GARNER

I am looking to work together with other residents to build a better North Hollywood.
Having lived here since 1998 and in the Valley all my life, I look forward to giving my input on a variety of items to help improve our daily life here.

Hi Everybody! My name is Judy Harris. I am the North-North Hollywood Neighborhood Watch Captain, and Resident-Representative and Outreach Chair for the NHNENC. I have had the pleasure of serving a full term as a council member, and I will be honored to be re-elected for another term. My projects have included community cleanups, beautification, partnerships with local buisnesses and law enforcement. I would love to continue and improve our Outreach motto: Displaying Pride within the Community, One Stakeholder at a Time”
