Driver Gets 45 Days In Fatal North Hollywood Hit & Run
A 23-year-old man is the second person to be sentenced in a freak accident triggered when a club bouncer punched a patron into the street.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A motorist, who failed to stop after his car struck and killed a man who landed in a North Hollywood street after being punched by a bar bouncer, was sentenced Tuesday to 45 days in county jail and 60 days of community service.
Jorge McDonald Jr., 23, was also ordered to serve three years on formal probation.
McDonald pleaded no contest Jan. 22 to a felony hit-and-run charge stemming from the Dec. 15, 2016, death of Wilfredo Rodriguez, 47.

The bouncer, Ernest Shawn Reyes, 35, was initially charged with murder, but pleaded no contest last December to involuntary manslaughter in connection with Rodriguez's death. Reyes was sentenced Jan. 17 to 180 days in jail, 240 hours of community service and three years on probation.
Rodriguez was intoxicated at the time of the struggle with Reyes and fell into the street outside the bar in the 6300 block of Lankershim Boulevard, where he was struck by a dark-colored sedan driven by McDonald, authorities said.
