DUI Suspect Repeatedly Tries To Parallel Park During Police Chase

A woman suspected of drunk driving in North Hollywood repeatedly tried and failed to parallel park during a bizarre police chase.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A suspected DUI driver led police on a bizarre chase Thursday evening that began in North Hollywood and ended in Boyle Heights where she was shot with a stun gun and forcibly taken out of the vehicle by officers after trying to push against a patrol SUV.

The driver was involved in at least two crashes during the chase but there were no immediate reports of serious injuries.

The chase began at 10:22 p.m. near the Hollywood (101) Freeway and Cahuenga Boulevard where officers spotted the SUV with what looked like fresh damage from a crash, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im.

The driver, who was seen running red lights and driving the wrong way on one-way streets, stopped several times and attempted to parallel park before taking off once patrol cars caught up.

The SUV she was driving was involved in at least two crashes during the pursuit.

Just before 11 p.m. the chase ended when officers blocked her in on a Boyle Heights street, but she continued to push against their vehicles.

Officers shot the woman with a stun gun and climbed into the passenger seat of the vehicle and took her out of the vehicle before taking her into custody.

No officers were believed to be injured in the chase.
