Encampment Catches On Fire Under Interstate 405
The fire spread to adjacent palm trees near the freeway on-ramp, according to California Highway Patrol.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A homeless encampment is currently on fire near the Interstate 405 in the San Fernando Valley. The fire was reported around 4:43 p.m. near the freeway on-ramp at San Fernando Mission Boulevard according to California Highway Patrol.
CHP said the fire spread to the median, and that palm trees on the right shoulder also caught on fire. Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters are at the scene along with officers from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A live traffic map showed significant slowdown on the southbound 405 back to the 5 freeway interchange, with congestion easing up after the site of the fire.
