Local Leaders Pressured To Close Immigrant Family Detention Camps
Protesters will converge on the offices of LA area legislators Tuesday to call on the closure of detention camps holding immigrant children.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Demonstrators across the country, including in Los Angeles, are converging Tuesday on the offices of congressional leaders to demand that detention camps holding immigrant children and their families be closed.
The advocacy group Move On is inspiring the protests and encouraging demonstrators to gather outside the offices of U.S. senators and members of the house to demand the camps be closed. Protestors are taking advantage of the fact that congressional leaders are back in their districts to celebrate the July 4th holiday.
Here in the Southland protests are scheduled to begin at noon at the following congressional offices.

In addition to the Move On protests, other groups scheduling protests for Tuesday include: United We Dream, American Friends Service Committee and Families Belong Together.
