NoHo Home Alliance Raises $10,000 For Summer Heatwave Fundraiser

Funds will be used to buy water, food, tents, misters and more amid scorching temperatures roasting the valley.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — NoHo Home Alliance's summer fundraiser came to a successful end on July 31, reaching their goal of raising $10k by the end of the month. The funds will be used to support the organization's summer programs, supplying cooling devices and hygiene resources for unhoused valley residents amidst the soaring temperatures.

The fundraiser raised a total of $10,597 toward NoHo Home Alliance. The money will be used to buy water, food, pop up tents, and misters for their drop-in programs, among other items.

"NoHo Home Alliance operates all year round as a center serving folks who need to meet their basic needs, address medical concerns, learn about their housing options and connect with their community," the organization said. "Los Angeles doesn't have many places to get cool during the Summers as cooling centers are limited. NHHA provides a place not only to take respite and recover but also to connect with a variety of housing and service providers."

NoHo Home Alliance works to end homelessness in North Hollywood, Studio City, Toluca Lake and Valley Village. They host weekly drop-ins at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, where homeless residents can receiving meals, showers, clothes and case management among other assistance.

On Tuesdays, drop-in services are available at Unitarian Universalist Church in Studio City, located at 12355 Moorpark St.
