Police Warn of Spare Tire Thefts
Four vehicles are burglarized overnight in late September.

Spare tires were stolen from four vehicles parked on North Hollywood streets overnight from Sept. 24-25, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Mid-size SUVs were targeted in the rash of thefts, including a Honda CRV, a Toyota RAV4 and a Jeep Wrangler, authorities said.
The thefts occurred in the 4900 block of Cartwright Avenue, the 10600 block of Otsego Street, the 5700 block of Beck Avenue and the 4900 block of Denny Avenue, said Sgt. Shaw of North Hollywood Division's auto theft unit.

Police recommend several options to secure a spare tire:
- Locking spare tire cover
- Locking wheel nuts
- Locking cable through the support mount
