1 Killed, 1 Wounded In West Hills Shooting

WEST HILLS, CA — One man was killed and a second wounded Wednesday evening in a shooting in West Hills.

The gunfire was reported about 8:45 p.m. in the 22600 block of Vanowen Street, at or near Shadow Ranch Park, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

One victim died at the scene and the second was taken to a hospital, Lopez said, but an update on the wounded man's condition was not immediately available, nor was any suspect information.

It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related, Lopez said.
