2 Schools Locked Down As Police Search For Robbery Suspect
An elementary school and a middle school in North Hills were under lockdown during the search on Balboa Boulevard, officials said.
NORTHRIDGE, CA — Two schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday while officers searched for a robbery suspect in North Hills.
Officers received a call at 3:10 p.m. about a robbery in the 8900 block of Balboa Boulevard, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department.
One suspect was taken into custody, and officers established a perimeter and were searching for two outstanding suspects, Lopez said.

Schools in the area were placed on lockdown, according to Lopez. Wendell Holmes Middle School and Dearborn Elementary School were locked down during the police activity, CBS2 reported.
Dearborn Elementary was serving as a voting center Tuesday, but voters were not affected, according to the report.
