2 Structures Damaged In Brush Fire Near Chatsworth Nature Preserve

Two structures were damaged in the blaze that burned land in a residential neighborhood near the Chatsworth Nature Preserve.

WEST HILLS, CA — Two structures suffered minor damage in a brush fire that broke out in a neighborhood adjacent to the Chatsworth Nature Preserve Monday afternoon.

The fire was first reported at around 2:45 p.m. on Megan Avenue, a hillside street abutting the conservation land, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At that time, the blaze was reported to be one-tenth of an acre and threatened one home.

Within 45 minutes, 50 firefighters successfully contained the blaze after it burned on acre of hillside vegetation behind four homes, the LAFD said.

Two structures suffered what firefighters called minor damage.

No injuries were reported and no evacuations were ordered.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
