2 Women Struck By Metrolink Train In San Fernando Valley
Their deaths Monday night are under investigation.
LAKE BALBOA — Two women were struck and killed by a Metrolink train in the San Fernando Valley Monday evening, and authorities are working to determine how it happened.
The Los Angeles Fire Department received the call for help at 6:12 p.m. on the 17000 block of Roscoe Boulevard in the Lake Balboa area, said LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
"Firefighters located two female patients (age unknown), who were struck by the train and beyond medical help," she said. "Both patients were determined deceased on scene."

It wasn't immediately clear why the women were in the path of the train. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating their deaths.
Their identities are being withheld pending notification of their families.
