Air Conditioning? Not at Nobel Middle School

Fans and portable air conditioning units are ordered to the school.

All the cool kids are back in class, but things have been really hot at Nobel Middle School with the air conditioning on the fritz.

School Boardmember Tamar Galatzan ordered a supply of fans and the equipment needed to install eight portable air conditioning units, according to her newsletter.

"Additionally, the District will be assigning extra maintenance staff to the school to monitor their antiquated air conditioning system and installing a supplemental chiller unit in the coming days to ensure cool air flows throughout all classrooms," she said.

But what are the plans to relieve sweltering conditions? These fixes are temporary until a project that has been in the works for years is completed -- by first day of school next year.
