Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found by a hiker Thursday morning.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A hiker found a man's body in the Tujunga Wash flood control channel in Shadow Hills Thursday, triggering a homicide investigation, according to authorities.

The body was found in remnant floodwater at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, and firefighters and police were called to the remote area, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities did not release the identity of the man thought to be roughly 30 years old. Officials did not publicly identify his suspected cause of death.
