Granada Hills Archer Fire: Forward Progress Stopped, Evacuation Lifted
Firefighters are on the scene of the 31-acre brush fire burning near O'Melveny Park
GRANADA HILLS, CA — A small brush fire is burning in Granada Hills, and firefighters are on the scene.
The blaze, dubbed the Archer Fire, broke out just before 10:30 a.m. in the 17200 block of West Sesnon Boulevard in the Granada Hills/Porter Ranch area near O'Melveny Park. It quickly grew to 31 acres, burning in medium brush under erratic winds, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
An immediate mandatory evacuation was issued but then quickly downgraded to a warning and the LAFD has lifted the earlier evacuation warning, said Stewart. The order was issued for residents at Balboa Boulevard and Interstate 5 on the east, Tampa Avenue on the west, Sesnon on the south and Sunshine Canyon Road on the north.
