"Despite 90°F+ ambient temperature and quick moving flames in volatile grass fanned by shifting 10 mph winds, a well-coordinated effort by LAFD ground and air units has held the fire to 7 acres of vegetation," Humphrey said.
"Firefighters will remain at scene into this afternoon, mopping up hotspots and completing a damp bare soil perimeter surrounding the burned area," he added.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.
